01.

HEAD

Carved from solid wood, and standing about 4ft in height, this sculpture can dominate your garden to create a unique environment. Over time, the character of this piece will continue to develop, as cracks and shakes appear.

02.

GHOST

Dark, brooding and hollow. This sculpture brings a mystique to its surroundings, and, being over 5ft in height, can unleash the heebie-jeebies in any unsuspecting visitor.

03.

BEAK

At around 7ft high, the dark and ominous Beak towers over you, glowering down with his blackened eyes to stare deep into your soul. Ideal as a security device in a darkened garden - none shall dare pass!

ABOUT

“To me, making marks is the most important. Idea and title are secondary. The strongest marks are the ones I don’t remember; the subconscious.” I have always been interested in art, and have had a passion for sculpture in particular. For many years I have explored, and experimented with different materials including, paint, clay, concrete, metal, aerated blocks, stone and wood. My work is stimulated by lots of things, from primitive art to everyday emotional, and visual experience. For the last few years I have been working mainly in wood, doing large abstract and figurative sculptures. My exhibitions have been featured in local and national newspapers, art magazines, BBC Radio, and have been on TV several times. I have a strong interest in Street Art - making images, graphics and collages of contemporary and historical characters, fused with dark and atmospheric backgrounds and uniquely architectural mountings. These artworks are reproduced for sale on this site, as close to the original as possible, but never quite the same - uniqueness in emulation.

SCULPTURES

The above sculptures can be carved to your own specification, using sustainably sourced timbers from the heart of Sherwood Forest. Whilst not being identical to the ones shown above, the nature of the timbers and the carving techniques used means that each piece will be unique to you. These pieces are not mass produced and stored, ready for someone to come along and buy - they are crafted for you, to meet your requirements, ensuring you have a singularly characterful sculpture that will change over time as the timbers settle, warp, twist and age. Please contact me about any sculptures that you are interested in. A delivery service is available.

STREET ART

I enjoy making art for people. I enjoy showing off my art for people. One of the best ways to do this, I find, is to create street art. Whilst many people conflate the term street art with graffiti, street art is far more open. There are no rules in street art, so anything goes. I commonly use materials and techniques including fly-posting), stenciling, stickers, freehand drawing and projections. I choose my locations carefully to reflect my mood, the creation and the ensure everything marries. Much of my street art is created in such a way that I can produce replicas or prints of the finished pieces. If you are interested in buying my street art, please contact me.

COMMISSIONS

Over the years, I have undertaken numerous commissions for a variety or organisations and individuals, often in co-operation with local communities and local schools. I specialise in working with children and young people to design sculptures and installations that reflect their area, beliefs and futures as well as representing the history of the community at large. Please contact me if you wish to commission me to create a unique piece of artwork for your organisation or maybe for yourself.

WORKSHOPS

I specialise in teaching sculpture and art in schools and to members of the public, through custom workshops. These can range from projects involving consultation with the local community to decide on themes, or simple one-off workshops for a half day. I can tailor the workshops to a group’s needs and budget. All of my workshops are interactive, engaging and fun, and most people leave the workshop with a unique piece of art they have designed and created.
